See?  I told it wasn’t going to be all tutorials and recipes.  I had a little fun with HTML5/CSS3 and TypeKit and made myself a simple one-page portfolio.  Should be the first of a few pages of a personal site I’m working on.

A side note: I experimented with Google’s and TypeKit’s WebFontLoader on this page and found out that if anything, the loader makes the flash of unstylized text even worse than the regular flavor TypeKit.   They do give you a way around that (hide the elements until the font is fully rendered basically), but it’s still something worth noting.

Trying a little experiment.  I see so many tutorials, recipes, projects, etc. online but I always just tuck them away and say to myself, “I’ll have to go through that later.” And then I promptly forget about it.  

Well, no more.  

Starting soon tomorrow after this Father’s Day weekend at the latest I’m going to do something everyday for at least 30 days in a row.  Mostly it’ll be a javascript or graphic design tutorial or showing off progress of my personal site, but you never know.  I’ll show you the results, reactions, and other observations.

You’ll be bored to tears.

But at least I’ll learn something.
